বাংলাদেশ ইসলামী শিক্ষাবোর্ডের ৯ম ও ১০ম শ্রেণির দাখিল স্তরের ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদের জন্য English for Today 2023 বইটি শিক্ষার্থীদের ইংরেজি ভাষায় দক্ষতা অর্জনের ক্ষেত্রে একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ হাতিয়ার হিসেবে প্রস্তুত করা হয়েছে। এই বইটি আধুনিক শিক্ষণ-পদ্ধতি অনুসরণ করে তৈরি, যার মাধ্যমে শিক্ষার্থীরা ভাষার চারটি মৌলিক দিক—শুনা, বলা, পড়া ও লেখা—উন্নত করতে পারবে।
বইটিতে নির্বাচিত পাঠ্যসূচি ও ব্যবহারিক অনুশীলন শিক্ষার্থীদের দৈনন্দিন জীবনের ইংরেজি ব্যবহারের জন্য প্রস্তুত করে তোলে, পাশাপাশি শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠানে প্রয়োজনীয় পরীক্ষার জন্য উপযোগী। নতুন বইটিতে ভাষাগত জ্ঞানের পাশাপাশি সাহিত্যিক ও সাংস্কৃতিক উপাদান অন্তর্ভুক্ত করা হয়েছে, যা শিক্ষার্থীদের চিন্তাভাবনার বিস্তার ঘটাবে এবং তাদের ইংরেজি বিষয়ে আগ্রহ ও আত্মবিশ্বাস বাড়াবে।
English for Today 2023 বইটি শিক্ষার্থীদের ইংরেজি শেখার যাত্রাকে সহজ, আকর্ষণীয় এবং ফলপ্রসূ করতে সর্বোচ্চ মানের শিক্ষণ উপকরণ হিসেবে বিবেচিত হবে বলে আমরা বিশ্বাস করি। আশা করি, এটি শিক্ষার্থীদের ভাষাগত দক্ষতা উন্নয়নে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালন করবে এবং তাদের শিক্ষা জীবনে সাফল্যের পথ প্রশস্ত করবে।

In the era of globalisation, English is one of the most powerful tools for pursuing higher studies, using technology, inter-cultural and inter-personal communications, and job markets at home and abroad. The curriculum makes it explicit that language learning will be graded and contents will reflect real life situations as the ultimate purpose of language learning is to communicate.
The English For Today textbooks have been developed to help students attain competency in all four language skills, i.e. listening, speaking, reading and writing. The contents and illustrations of this textbook have been developed in order to suit the learners’ age and cognitive level.
